Can a separated parent permanently relocate a child?

Separated parents are not permitted to relocate a child permanently overseas unless they have obtained a specific agreement or a court order.

Removing a child from the UK without one of these permissions is classed as child abduction.

    Family Law Solicitors

Getting help with a child abduction case

Perduco Law has an expert team of legal professionals with years of experience in handling the often delicate issue of child abduction.

The parent remaining in the UK must apply for the return of the child within the country that the child has relocated to.

Most overseas territories are signed up to the Hague Convention (1980) international agreement regarding the repatriation of minors in cases of international child abduction. This agreement makes the application process much more straightforward in cases where it applies.

In all circumstances, Perduco Law will carry out your international court applications, and manage your case in a diligent and sensitive manner.
